Historical Background
 
 

In  November 1967,  The Directorate of Education was established to cater the needs of schools in Bethlehem as well as schools in Jerusalem and Jericho. In 1994, The Palestinian Ministry of Education took responsibility of Education and the directorate of education in Bethlehem became part of it.

Bethlehem Directorate of Education  is a dynamic educational institution which is responsible for the development of primary and secondary education, with a staff who are dedicated to student success, teaching excellence, and community service.

In 1967 Bethlehem Directorate of Education supervised  the following divisions:

1-    Division of Supervision and Educational Qualifying.

2-    Division of Administrative Affairs.

3-    Division of Examinations.

4-    Division of Supplements.

5-    Division of Personnel Bureau.

6-    Division of financial Affairs.
